The Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) will hold its next quarterly meeting on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, beginning at 9 a.m. in the LaVerne E. Ragster Administration and Conference Center (ACC), first-floor conference room, on the Orville E. Kean Campus on St. Thomas.

The regular (public) session of the meeting will also be accessible virtually for members of the media and the general public via Microsoft Teams.

 

Action Agenda Highlight

During the meeting, the Board will consider the approval of the fundraising and alumni giving rate goals for Fiscal Year 2026, as recommended by the Development Committee. The proposed targets include a $5 million fundraising goal and an alumni participation rate of 6–8 percent.

 

Reports from Board Committees

Committee updates will highlight progress and key developments across several institutional priorities. The following committees are scheduled to present reports at the meeting:

  • Academic, Research & Student Affairs (ARSA) – Will provide updates on enrollment trends, digital engagement initiatives, and the expansion of workforce and teacher training programs, along with notable faculty and student achievements.
  • Audit Committee – Will report on the status of FY2020–FY2024 audits, internal audit activities, and the 2026 Risk Assessment and Audit Plan.
  • Building & Grounds Committee – Will present updates on major capital projects, including the nearly complete $6.7 million School of Nursing and Medical Simulation Center on St. Croix, hurricane recovery progress, and the development of a new Campus Master Plan.
  • Finance & Budget Committee – Will review FY2025 financial performance, FY2026 budget revisions, and proposed updates to University financial policies.
  • Planning Committee – Will provide updates on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), enrollment and alumni engagement trends, and the implementation of interactive KPI dashboards.

 

Executive Session

Following the regular session, the Board will meet in Executive Session to discuss personnel matters, legal updates, and other confidential issues. A report on actions taken during the Executive Session will be shared after the meeting.
