Members of the media are invited to cover and photograph the Open House hosted by the University of the Virgin Islands’ (UVI) Center for Marine and Environmental Studies (CMES) on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacLean Marine Science Building on UVI’s Orville E. Kean Campus, located along John Brewers Bay Beach on St. Thomas.

 

The event takes place during UVI’s 2025 Homecoming Week and will highlight the recently renovated facility and the groundbreaking research being conducted by UVI faculty and students. The Open House will feature guided tours of state-of-the-art laboratories and interactive displays focused on coral and mangrove restoration, sea turtle movement ecology, deep-reef ecosystems, and environmental robotics.
