The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) and 13D Research & Strategy are pleased to invite the public to the 4th Annual Business Leadership Lecture, featuring world-renowned futurist and best-selling author Nikolas Badminton. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the UVI 13D Research and Strategy Innovation Center on St. Thomas, with a welcome reception at 4:30 p.m. and the lecture beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Badminton is a globally recognized futurist who empowers leaders to harness foresight and innovation to build bold, hopeful futures. Through his work, he helps organizations and individuals anticipate disruption, navigate uncertainty and shape strategies for long-term success.
With more than 30 years of experience, Badminton has advised over 500 leading organizations at the forefront of innovation and strategy, including NASA, Google, Microsoft, Disney, the United Nations and JPMorgan Chase. He is the author of the best-selling book Facing Our Futures, recognized among the Top 50 Business Books by The Next Big Idea Club, and his insights have been featured by major outlets such as the BBC, Forbes and Business Insider. He is also widely sought after as a technologist, sustainability pioneer and humanist, and served as an advisor to the Age of AI series with Robert Downey Jr.

The event will include a welcome reception sponsored by the UVI Research & Technology Park (RT Park), offering attendees an opportunity to network with business leaders, professionals, students and innovators from across the territory.
