- Goals -
- Effectively address environmental problems unique to tropical island communities through innovative research
- Facilitate collaboration among local, regional, and national researchers working to better understand how regional marine resources respond to a variety of perturbations
- Prepare students, and the regional governments they represent, to better address current and emerging issues related to natural resources and sustainable economic development
- Increase the public's awareness and understanding of the linkages between healthy marine resources and dependent social, economic and political structures.
