UVI Celebrates Faculty Excellence Across ONE UVI

As part of President Safiya George's ONE UVI vision and the University's GRAND Momentum Strategic Plan, the Office of the Provost continues to strengthen collaboration and integration across all academic affairs units while recognizing the outstanding contributions of faculty throughout the institution.

On May 12, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Lora Bracy Bailey hosted a Faculty Excellence Recognition Ceremony honoring faculty members and researchers for achievements in teaching, research and service. The event reflected UVI's commitment to ensuring that excellence is recognized across all academic units, including the University of the Virgin Islands Center for Excellence in Leadership and Learning (UVI CELL) and UVI Online.

More than 30 faculty members from the School of Agriculture, School of Business, School of Education, School of Nursing, College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, College of Science and Mathematics, UVI CELL and UVI Online received Provost's Faculty Excellence Awards. Honorees were recognized for their dedication to student success, scholarly achievement, innovation and service to the University and community.

The ceremony also recognized the inaugural cohort of Provost's Fellows, a new leadership initiative designed to engage outstanding faculty members in advancing academic excellence, innovation and institutional transformation across UVI.

Award recipients were selected through a competitive nomination and evaluation process led by UVI's academic deans. Provost's Fellows were chosen through a competitive nomination and application process recognizing faculty leaders committed to advancing academic excellence, innovation and student success across the University.

"Recognizing the accomplishments of our faculty across every academic unit reflects the spirit of ONE UVI," said Dr. Bailey. "Their work strengthens our academic programs, advances research and enhances the University's impact throughout the Virgin Islands and beyond."
