The Caribbean Green Technology Center and the VI Department of Agriculture team of experts ask the USVI community to begin to use water conservation methods as the Virgin Islands are experiencing yet another drought. As this negative impact of climate change affects our ability to harvest water, the UVI Caribbean Green Technology Center (CGTC) and the Virgin Islands Department of Agriculture (VIDA) are asking residents and farmers to begin reducing water use and conserving water as drought conditions are expected to last for at least another month.

Kean Campus of the University of the Virgin Islands.

The Caribbean Writer (TCW) has issued a call for submissions for Volume 36 under the 2021 theme: “Disruption, Disguise, and Illuminations.” More and more, as history meets day-to-day experiences, epiphanies unfold, and, as we self-interrogate the disruption motifs in many of these illuminations, the roots of prevailing disruptions emerge, complicated by disguise. Writers are invited to offer for consideration creative works exploring this theme in its widest permutations.

Members of the media are invited to cover and photograph the University of the Virgin Islands’ unveiling of the new sign bearing the campus’s new name -- the University of the Virgin Islands Orville E. Kean Campus -- on St. Thomas. The event will take place at 4:30 p.m. on June 3, at the University’s Information Kiosk, which is adjacent to the Upper Campus entrance overlooking the soccer field. The unveiling will take place at the UVI sign at the entrance to the upper campus.
