Franchel Rodriguez

Franchel Rodriguez
I am a Senior at the University of the Virgin Islands Albert A. Sheen Campus pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Criminal Justice. I currently serve as the Student Government Association (SGA) President, where I advocate for student success, leadership development, and campus engagement.  I am passionate about healthcare, public service, and making a positive impact throughout the Virgin Islands. My goal is to become an advanced psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, SANE A & SANE P, and a DNP and contribute to improving health outcomes in our territory. I am excited to welcome new Buccaneers and help make your transition to UVI a memorable and successful experience.

J’john-na Charles

My name is J’john-na Charles, and I am a Criminal Justice major at the University of the Virgin Islands. I am passionate about helping others, building meaningful connections, and creating positive experiences for those around me. I currently serve as the new Junior Senator at the University of the Virgin Islands, where I have the opportunity to represent and advocate for my fellow students. Through my leadership experiences, I have developed strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Outside of academics, I enjoy singing, doing hair, and exploring creative ways to express myself. I am excited for the opportunity to serve as an Orientation Leader and help new students feel welcomed, supported, and confident as they begin their college journey.

I am currently a sophomore pursuing a degree in Nursing at my college, where I am passionate about developing the skills needed to provide compassionate and effective patient care. Alongside my academic journey, I have a strong appreciation for the arts, which allows me to express creativity and maintain balance in my busy schedule. I am also proud to work at the same college I attend, giving me the opportunity to stay actively involved in the campus community while gaining valuable professional experience. Through both my studies and work, I have developed strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills. I am committed to making a positive impact on others, whether through healthcare or student engagement. I am excited to continue growing academically, professionally, and personally during my college experience.

My name is Fatima Ali, a sophomore at the University of the Virgin Islands, St. Croix campus, where I proudly serve as President of the Criminal Justice Club. I am passionate about staying active whether through exercise, walking, organizing, or exploring new places. My academic ambitions include earning degrees in criminal justice, business, real estate, and other areas that will support my professional growth. I am driven by the belief that with determination and discipline, I can achieve every goal I set.

Negus Cooper 

 N. Cooper

My name is Negus B. Cooper, and I am a proud 20-year-young student at the University of the Virgin Islands, pursuing a bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a minor in Political Science. Although I am a freshman, I currently serve as the Chairman of the Miss & Mr. University of the Virgin Islands Pageant and as a freshman Senator for the 2025–2026 academic year, demonstrating my commitment to leadership and service. Beyond academics, I enjoy mentoring and coaching pageant delegates, helping them grow into confident and successful individuals. Baking is another passion of mine, allowing me to express my creativity while bringing joy to others. My greatest ambition is to become both a firefighter and a district attorney, careers that reflect my dedication to protecting others and ensuring justice is accessible to everyone.

Isaac Chico 

 Orientation Leader

My name is Isaac Chico, and I am a sophomore at the University of the Virgin Islands. I was born and raised on St. Croix and am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, with a particular interest in game development and software programming.  Outside of academics, I serve as a fitness coach for students who are interested in improving their strength, physique, and overall health.  My long-term goals are to become both an accomplished game developer and an elite lifter and fitness coach.  At the same time, I am dedicated to strengthening my programming skills with the goal of developing and publishing my own video game. Through both fitness and technology, I hope to inspire others to pursue their goals with discipline, consistency, and a commitment to continuous growth.
