The VI Energy Office (VIEO) and the Caribbean Green Technology Center (CGTC) of the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) are pleased to invite you to attend the inaugural VI Energy Sustainability Fair. The theme will be empowering Virgin Islanders to transition towards energy independence and become more resilient.
The events will take place at the Elridge Blake Sports and Fitness Center on the Orville E. Kean Campus on St. Thomas on Oct. 15, and the Great Hall on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix on Oct. 30. Starting at 10 a.m. and concluding at 5 p.m. each day, activities will include interactive workshops, live demonstrations and the chance to meet with vendors, professionals and leaders in the territory and hear more about the future of energy in the VI.
The VI Children’s Museum will be there with activities for the children and the first 100 people will get a free giveaway.
Workshops include Residential Solar, WAPA and Renewable Energy, Household Tools and Tips, Internet of Things, Composting, Powering Through a Blackout, Electric Cars, Cistern Maintenance, Desalinization and Water Quality and Reduce, Reuse and Recycling.
Outdoor Demonstrations: Composting displays and a chance to chat with experts from the Virgin Islands Conservation Society and the VI Department of Agriculture plus a large showcase of electric cars presented by the VI Electric Vehicle Association North (VIEVAN) and the VI Energy Office
Panels include The Future of Renewable Energy in the USVI, and All about Electric Vehicles.
Exhibitors and Vendors include: Pro Solar Systems, Silver Sun Solar, Electric Factory, ECO Innovations, Carib Sun Energy, VI Electric Vehicle Association North (VIEVAN), the VI Water and Power Authority and the VI Energy Office will be focused on renewable energy. Exhibitors focused on sustainability and resilience efforts in the Territory include UVI Caribbean Green Technology Center, VI Conservation Society, VI Marine Advisory Service, VI Waste Management Authority, Department of Planning and Natural Resources, St. Thomas Rotary East ECO, Seven Seas Water, Island Green Living, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), VI Montessori and Peter Gruber International Academy School, VI Children’s Museum, VI Department of Agriculture, and Red Cross.
