The University of the Virgin Islands continues to monitor Hurricane Tammy. According to the National Hurricane Center’s 11 a.m. advisory, Hurricane Tammy has maximum sustained winds of 75 miles per hour and is moving toward the west-northwest near 7 mph, and this general motion is expected to continue through this afternoon. A turn toward the northwest is anticipated by Friday evening, followed by a north-northwestward and northward turn Saturday night through Sunday night.

UVI Addresses False Allegations in Editorial to Miami Herald

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is addressing false allegations printed in a recent Miami Herald article with a letter to its editor. The false allegations stem from court documents filed by JP Morgan Chase in connection with the Jeffrey Epstein litigation with the V.I. Government. The Miami Herald article was also reproduced by the Virgin Islands Daily News and by national news outlets including Yahoo News.
