The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) announces that all classes and hours of operation will resume at their regularly scheduled times on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) will suspend all classes and employee work on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025, due to expected inclement weather. Only essential employees are required to report in person. Employees should contact their supervisors to confirm their reporting status.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Emerging Caribbean Scientists (ECS) Program and the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) will host the 2025 Annual Fall Student Research Symposium on Sunday, Sept. 28, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the 13D Research and Strategy Innovation Center on the Orville E. UVI National Student Exchange Participant Wins Prestigious National Award

On Sunday, Oct. 19, World Food Day will be observed from noon to 6 p.m. on the grounds of the University of the Virgin Islands’ (UVI) Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix. The day will kick off with a formal opening ceremony and continue with educational workshops, a food vendor’s court, a farmers' market, a Super Chef demonstration, and distribution of free vegetable seedlings.

The University of the Virgin Islands mourns the passing of UVI student Phi-Jah E. Merchant, 22, who tragically lost his life in a single-car collision early Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, on the Melvin H. Evans Highway near the William D. Roebuck Industrial Park.

This summer, the University of the Virgin Islands’ (UVI) Growing Research, Restoration, Outreach, and Education (GRROE) USVI Mangroves Program proudly sent a cohort of 14 students, faculty, staff, and local educators to the National Marine Educators Association (NMEA) Annual Conference in Lafayette, Louisiana.
