The University of the Virgin Islands family joins forces with alumni and special alumni on Sept. 23, 24 and 25 for the 2014 Alumni Phonathon.

The Virgin Islands Certified Public Manager (VI CPM) program at the University of the Virgin Islands is taking applications for the program’s 2014-2015 cohort or “colleague group.”

In August, the University of the Virgin Islands and the National Park Service signed a memorandum of Understating (MOU) demonstrating future cooperation between the NPS on St. Croix and the University.

Miss UVI 2014-2015 Elisa Thomas will compete in the 2014 National Black College Alumni (NBCA) Hall of Fame Queens pageant from Sept. 24 to Sept. 28, in Atlanta, Ga., at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

The Reichhold Center for the Arts unveiled its 2014-2015 season on Aug. 28, with the biggest names in the music industry. This season Reichhold brings seven of the best performers to the stage – from dance to vocal musicianship and theatrical illusion.

A special meeting of the University of the Virgin Islands Board of Trustees will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, in room 303 of the Administration and Conference Center on St. Thomas and in the conference room of the RTPark, 64 West Center, on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix.

The University of the Virgin Islands Research and Technology Park’s (RTPark) 64 West Center building was awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)® Silver Certification in August. LEED, which was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the nation’s preeminent program for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.

The University of the Virgin Islands has appointed Dr. Beverley Anne Lansiquot to serve as dean of the School of Nursing. Dr. Lansiquot is a graduate of the then College of the Virgin Islands, having earned her associate degree in nursing on the St. Thomas Campus.
