The University of the Virgin Islands Board of Trustees will meet at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, in the Great Hall in the North West Wing on UVI’s Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix.

The University of the Virgin Islands School of Business received initial accreditation status in May from the Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

The director of UVI’s Center for Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (UVICELL) was recently presented with a Patriot Award by the office of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), which recognizes extraordinary support of employees serving in the Virgin Islands’ Guard and Reserve.

More than 300 degrees will be awarded by the University of the Virgin Islands during Commencement Ceremonies scheduled for May 17 and 18, on the St. Thomas Campus and on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix, respectively.

The University of the Virgin Islands, with support from a substantial federal grant, is developing and implementing a Substance Abuse and HIV Prevention Program with the goal of reducing drug use and abuse, and preventing the transmission of HIV infections among college students and other young adults in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
